Medical Freedom as Important as Ever within MAHA!
By Irene Pi
What a time to be an advocate for health, especially the health of our children. In this past year we’ve seen the conversation for health freedom rise to the forefront of every media outlet, on the most popular podcasts and in the political arena, thanks in part to the campaign message of Robert Kennedy Jr. Continuing on with his lifelong quest to protect the most vulnerable, he relinquished his own political journey and aligned with now President Trump to pursue that most significant goal.
A key factor of this new focus for health paradigm has been a fight many of us have been a part of for decades: medical freedom. The right to refuse unwanted medical procedures that penetrate the flesh is the most significant battle of all. Many who have come to stand side-by-side with the MAHA movement are new to the issues that the medical freedom advocates have been battling for a very long time. The protection needed from eliminating safeguards of refusal continues to occur across the country.
Just recently in Hawaii, a bill to remove the Religious Exemption for school admittance passed out of committee. And if you think that can’t happen here, please know that in 2019 that exact bill was introduced with nearly 20 co-sponsors. Thankfully, the majority party at that time did not assign it to a committee, and the bill was dead on arrival. However, the main sponsor is still with us and has great support from associations and agencies that would bring it back in a heartbeat!
In the Arizona arena of politics, never before politicians ran for their seats to join existing champions for the cause of medical freedom and protecting the right to refuse, helping to Make Arizona Healthy Again! These individuals are now also championing legislation that will establish protections and expose frailties in the current program. These bills need your support as they go against the status quo and receive much pushback.
One such bill, HB2063, requires a school to include the entire law pertaining to immunization requirements when communicating with parents. Currently, they use coercive “or else” language and omit that an exemption can be submitted in lieu of an updated vaccine record.
Another important bill is HB2058; this will make available an exemption for students who are over the age of 18 and are continuing their education beyond K-12. Families that have raised their children with certain values and medical decisions are left without the ability to continue their adult lives with these principles once they reach the age of maturity. (Language currently being updated.)
HB2012 prohibits an employer from mandating an Emergency Use Authorized product, and there are two bills regarding food: HB2164 to remove toxic ingredients from school lunches and HB2165 to ban sodas and candy from SNAP-permitted items.
Lastly, the most important and controversial bill of all is HB2055, which inhibits the ability for any product to be mandated that does not meet the criteria enumerated in the bill. For example, the product must have been tested against a placebo in the study relied upon for licensing by the FDA—not a single vaccine in the childhood schedule has, except for Covid. The product must be evaluated for its carcinogenic, mutagenic, or tumorigenic capacity, or impairment of fertility. NONE have been evaluated for carcinogenic potential, and very few have been tested for fertility issues; typically rat studies performed mostly for male fertility. The list goes on for this bill; please do take a moment to read through it. This legislation would solidify the sensible protection against mandates from these liability-free products and needs your support.
We all have a passion for protecting our children and living in a free society. The fight for medical freedom and making America healthy again is in a prime position to shift the paradigm and correct the wrongs that have gone on for way too long. With your participation, this can be done in Arizona, one bill at a time, one session at a time. Even though we know Governor Hobbs will veto these items if they make it to her desk, we must unite and let them all know, WE ARE NOT GOING AWAY!!
Please contact your Representative to support these bills. Sign on to the RTS system and vote FOR each one of them. Plus, HB2055 will be heard in the House HHS Committee this month; let the committee members know you support this bill and politely request they vote Aye to pass it!!
