Our Part in Creating State Laws that Stand for Good

Our Arizona State Legislature begins its 2025 Session this week! ... Before 2020 (when most of us Arizona Women of Action started paying attention to local politics), we had no idea and didn’t care much about what went on in our State Capitol. But that’s exactly why things got so insane to the point where we realized we have no choice but to BE ENGAGED LOCALLY!

We’ve all learned a lot since then, and we’ll continue to pass along important information to you in a simple and effective way. For example, do you know how a bill becomes law here in Arizona? Watch this brief video from Arizona Free Enterprise Club to learn!

In the 2025 Arizona House of Representatives, Republicans have a 33-27 majority. In the Arizona Senate, Republicans have a 17-13 majority. With Governor Hobbs in office, we don’t expect many of the conservative-leaning bills to be signed into law, but we will continue to support our legislators! One way we can do so is by using the Request To Speak (RTS) system, which allows citizens to publicly support or oppose bills. See the action item below on how to register for this great tool!

Another way to support our lawmakers is to pray for them by name. Consistently. Even if they don’t represent your political views. We can make a huge difference when we ask God to give our leaders wisdom and moral courage to do the right thing. Use this link to look up your legislators: https://www.azleg.gov/findmylegislator/

Another informative AND FUN opportunity: Join with our SALT groups for a tour of the Capitol on Friday, January 31 from 11AM to 1PM! Check out the details below in EVENTS. I’ll be there, and I’d love to see you. Bring a friend along too!

You’re reading this because you already know how much our civic and cultural leaders impact your schools, church, work and all relationships. And you know your voice matters!

Thank you for doing YOUR part, and please spread the word.
