What is the Beautiful Fire Under Your Fight?

If you’re reading our emails, you’re someone who cares about the world, and certainly your family. Also, you’re a fighter in one way or another. You’re fighting to help your school, your church, your work, or the people you care about.  

But I’d bet the fire under your fight is something beyond. What is the reason you fight? 

The most powerful thing on earth is Love. (Fear may seem stronger, but it’s not. “Perfect love casts out fear”.) Touch base again with the WHY of your fight. It needs to be personal. 

This week a tiny person came along and rattled all my to-do lists, all my plans and concerns. Our middle daughter and her husband welcomed their first baby, our grandson Asher. He had a rough start, but is doing wonderfully now. … He has rocked our world. 

Love has poured into this little house like a flood. Nothing else seems to matter in this place, except protecting the baby and everyone around him. You know what I mean if you’ve ever experienced a new baby. It draws everything into laser focus, simple and primal. 

Asher has reminded me that the prime reality—Love—is the only fuel powerful and sustainable enough to support everything we do. He has energized my heart (along with my precious daughter, this new mom). And because I know the God who made Asher (and each of us) out of love, I am empowered with all that’s needed to focus beyond the protection zone of this little house-- to see what powerful impact this love can have on my wider community (reaching even to impact America). 

I encourage you, my friends, to stop and look at what beautiful fire you have under your fight. You’ll find it in the faces of those you love, and the One who created them... Let that be the fuel for all you do. Your heart will be full, and you’ll be amazed at what happens!
