Great News: ‘Special Forces Unit’ of AZWOA is Winning for ‘24 and Beyond!
AZWOA has been tasked to recruit and hire a special team of women to align with Turning Point Action’s Chase the Vote Project, to build relationships with like-minded voters and to encourage them to vote. Our AZWOA “Special Forces Unit” is out in their neighborhoods getting to know other women and families. We’re literally building community--connecting neighbors to each other and providing the resources they need to protect kids and restore schools right in their area!
We asked our AZWOA Field Reps for a behind-the-scenes report on: 1) What it’s like meeting neighbors, 2) What they think our chances are for the 2024 election, and 3) What HAS TO HAPPEN for us to WIN in November! Here’s our Field Advisor, Judy Furno, and quotes from some of our Field Reps with the scoop – Kim
AZWOA is Winning NEW Voters & Changing Neighborhoods!
Guest blog by Judy Furno and our AZWOA Special Forces Field Reps
The AZWOA Chase-the-Vote Field Representatives are having great success making connections and building rapport with our neighbors! Because our women really care, and they’re sharing helpful tools and information, people see them as a trusted resource. And now the foundation is in place to increase voter turnout, as well! That’s the ultimate goal, but we’re excited that our amazing Field Reps are already having a huge impact in their communities.
We’re still looking for more Field Reps! If you are interested in being part of the team, please email us with your name, phone number and zip code! Oh, and did I mention that this is a PAID position?! Flexible hours, great salary and meeting your neighbors – why wouldn’t you want to join the team?
Here’s what our Field Representatives are saying:
What it’s like meeting neighbors:
“People are clearly frustrated with things today, they feel helpless, but they’re encouraged to see people like me out there willing to help. It has inspired some of them to volunteer and get others plugged in. Everyone loves my dog; I take her with me every day with her patriotic bandana and leash. She’s a great icebreaker, and I’ve had some awesome conversations with my neighbors! I even threw a birthday party for my dog and invited some of the dog owners I’ve met to come and help celebrate.”
“Meeting my neighbors has been extremely rewarding. I’ve been able to help some of them with tasks like cleaning up their yard or pulling out their trash bins. Small acts of kindness go a long way and it feels good to help!”
“Making connections within my community has been great! One family was remodeling their home, and I was able to connect them with an electrician that lives at the end of the street! Promoting each other’s businesses and helping to build a local network is extremely rewarding.”
What they think our chances are for the 2024 election
“The outlook is good. People are frustrated with the cost of groceries, the border, and rising crime rates. We want to help people realize that their vote is extremely important. We can’t expect things to change if we don’t elect new leaders.”
“Having conversations with people at the door is so much more impactful than a TV ad. I spoke with a woman who was a ‘one-issue’ voter, and she didn’t want to vote for Republicans because she’s pro-choice. After asking her some questions about other issues, her stance changed, and she realized she needed to broaden her perspective beyond the abortion issue.
What HAS TO HAPPEN for us to WIN in November?
“Women are the most important demographic when it comes to voting in the General Election, and we want to make sure that they are well-informed on the issues and that their vote can make a huge difference in the outcome of the election. We know abortion is going to be a big issue that the left will harp on, but if we focus on improving their everyday lives and protecting kids, we can change their minds.”
“We need to inform our neighbors about the importance of local races – school boards and city councils have much more impact on our daily lives than President or US Congress. We need to get people information on their local candidates and encourage them to vote for all candidates, not just President, Senate and US House of Representatives.”
We are so encouraged listening to our Field Representatives! They truly are having a positive impact in their communities, and this gets them pumped up! If you want to make a HUGE difference in your area, contact us today! There are still positions available, especially in Mesa, Gilbert and the West Valley.
